Hong Kong In-Between - Book

Hong Kong In-Between traces the journey of two Swiss architects as they explore overlooked interstitial spaces within Hong Kong’s dense urban fabric. Shifting from observation to active engagement, their research examines back lanes, alleys, and residual spaces as key entry points to understanding the city. Through texts, photographs, and drawings, the book documents everyday practices, informal economies, and social interactions unfolding in these in-between territories. It also presents the development of STAG, a mobile piece of street furniture conceived as a tool for spatial intervention and collective appropriation. Together, these investigations offer an alternative reading of Hong Kong shaped by lived experience and informal use.
