Wut Tung Sat - Exhibition
Peng Chau Inside-Out was an installation that explored inhabitation as an expanded territorial condition. Developed within Wut Tung Sat as both a laboratory and a temporary artist residence, the project treated the surrounding environment as a shared resource rather than a bounded site. By relocating everyday domestic activities—such as bathing—to public facilities elsewhere on the island, the installation shifted conventional boundaries between private and public space. This displacement expanded the perceived limits of the dwelling beyond its physical perimeter, suggesting the island itself as a potential home. In contrast, the interior reading platform functioned as a necessary micro-refuge, highlighting the tension between exposure and intimacy.
